| So given that you say raw rice at 1/2 cup is about the same weight as cooked rice, which should be regarded as the right measure when figuring calories? Given the density difference, surely 98 grams of cooked rice is much less in caloric value than the 92 grams of the stuff when it is dry. I never know how to read caloric value of servings with respect to rice and pasta and other cooked items for this reason. Thanks. | |

| Hi Helenlauer, thanks for your question. Usually nutrition facts will state whether the rice or pasta is cooked or not. However, consulting the nutrition facts comparison for dry vs. cooked rice, you are right to say that the dry (uncooked) rice has a lot more calories. One cup of uncooked rice has 685 calories, while one cup of cooked rice has 216. So in general, you can tell that the rice or pasta is uncooked if the calorie value is very high. | |

| Hi Hassan, thanks for your question. Whether or not 100 grams of cereal bar can make a whole bar depends on the size and shape of the bar, as well as the ingredients. For example, a bar with nuts and berries would weight more than just a plain bar. According to the nutrition facts for a plain rice and wheat cereal bar, one bar only weights 22 grams. Meaning that most bars are only 20-70 grams. Read the labels of bars to be sure. Hope that helps. | |
